Or maybe you are terrified of the needle? Dental fears are now minimized with a WaterLase dentist. This dental laser enables the dentist to use minimal & in some cases even no anesthetic or drills to perform many routine dental procedures!

The Waterlase is a revolutionary device created by BIOLASE® Technology, Inc. that is used instead of the dental drill. The laser uses hydrokinetic technology to cut teeth. The Waterlase produces a laser beam that energizes an exact stream of water that, when directed at a tooth, removes enamel, dentin, tooth decay & cavities.  This gentle laser does not just replace the shrill hum of the dentist’s drill; it also has the added benefit of eliminating the needle! That’s right; the Waterlase is so gentle anesthesia is often not required when performingdental treatment. The laser itself “causes a temporarily analgesic effect on the tooth, it’s self-numbing! Approved by the Federal Drug Administration for use on hard tissue in 1998, 2 years later, the device received approval for use on all oral tissue, including gum disease treatment! The heat from the laser actually stops bleeding gums & aids in blood clotting, thereby reducing pain & healing time.

Virtually Painless

Dental procedures can be performed nearly pain free with fewer shots, less need for anesthesia and fewer numb lips!

Heat, vibration & pressure are the primary causes of pain associated with the dental drill. Since cutting both hard & soft tissues (teeth & gums) with the WaterLase does not generate heat, vibration or pressure, many dental procedures can be performed nearly pain free with fewer shots, less need for anesthesia and fewer numb lips! Using the WaterLase for gum procedures reduces bleeding, post-operative pain, swelling & the need for pain medication!

Safe, Accurate & Precise

WaterLase dentists are able to remove tooth enamel decay (the hardest substance in the body), bone and gum tissue precisely while leaving surrounding areas unaffected. This conserves more of the precious tooth structure you were born with, helping you to maintain your natural teeth longer!

Waterlase is so Convenient!

Since it's less likely you will need an injection to fill your cavity, your dentist can do multiple simple procedures in a single visit.

Even for those who floss, brush & use fluoride regularly, you may still end up with a cavity. Between work, school, and children, plus everything else, there is no time to schedule another dental appointment. Since it’s less likely you will need an injection to fill your cavity, your dentist can do multiple simple procedures in a single visit! A WaterLase dentist can save you the hassle of going to a specialist because they can perform a wide variety of procedures.

For Children

For children, going to the dentist can be particularly frightening. Adding to this problem is not only their fear of the dentist’s drill, but also of the shots that go along with many procedures. The time it takes to calm children, administer the anesthetic, wait for it to take effect and begin the work makes dental visits quite an ordeal. Fortunately, new developments in dentistry are making many of these issues a thing of the past. The introduction of dental lasers will change the way you and your child feel about going to the dentist.  WaterLase “drill-less” dentistry is a procedure that can greatly reduce or eliminate much of what you fear most about dental work. In most cases, the dental laser requires no anesthetic, which means no shots. And it works just as quickly and effectively as the drill for removing tooth decay.

The WaterLase filling is safe, gentle and effective. Many young patients who have experienced this procedure reported little to no pain or real discomfort. In addition to being more comfortable, dental lasers often allow patients to resume normal activities after their visits. This means you may be able to eat right away, and go about your day without the residual swelling and numbness you would normally experience.  WaterLase dental lasers use water to help remove decay from the teeth. This combination is as powerful as the drill. Another advantage to this method versus the standard drill is that even when treating a child who may squirm or move, there is less risk of cutting or otherwise injuring the mouth.
